SecureFR

SecureFR allows users with a web browser to easily share files. No extra program installation is necessary.

Users can login, see their most recently uploaded files, go directly to the file from a link, or browse through the files they would a similar Windows Explorer experience.

Files are uploaded to the server using a secure, 128 bit encrypted SSL connection. File contents are stored encrypted and file names are stripped. This means that the physical files on the disc are illegible and not operable until requested for download, which they are then sent back through the SSL encryption.

Folder creation, file upload, edit, delete, download, download as ZIP, rating, comments, download history are all available. For folder security, a simple group-based process is used. Users and groups are created, users are assigned to groups, and the groups are given different levels of permission on a folder. Based on these permissions, users may not see the folder at all, upload but not delete, or are allowed to have complete control over a folder’s contents.

Notifications are used to send email alerts to users. Multiple file uploading is allowed so email alerts contain links to each uploaded file and a “download all” ability to receive a ZIP-based version.
